Norwell, MA Barstow Av. at Stetson Rd. approx. 1500 hrs. 4/22/05. First arriving companies found heavy fire showing from a barn, approx. 100 X 50. The fire took full posession of the structure, and required aggressive efforts of the responding companies to protect exposures. The fire was held to the original structure. Weymouth, MA Commercial and Washington Streets, Sacred Heart Church, approx. 2230 hrs 6/9/2005. A boiler malfunction is reported to have started a fire that eventually went to 7 alarms and destroyed the Sacred Heart Church. The building, typical late 19th/early 20th Roman Catholic church construction for the area was approximately 200 X 100, and about 4 stories tall, with the steeple rising to approximately 6 stories. Collapse zones were established early in the fire, as it became obvious that interior attacks were not going to be successful, and there would be a lot of stress placed on the building.
Camden, NJ, approx. 1215 hrs. 7/10/05. Camden firefighters and local EMS responded to a single car MVA on River Rd. in Camden. Upon arrival, they were met with a car that had been traveling in excess of 100 MPH prior to striking a metal/cement pole. 3 Occupants were transported to area hospitals, where one later succumbed to injuries sustained in the accident, According to local authorities, the car was reportedly stolen from nearby Cherry Hill.
