Worcester, MA, West Boylston St. at Ruthven St. approx. 2300 hrs. 8/9/03.  Worcester firefighters battled a stubborn blaze in a 2-1/2 story wood frame dwelling that at one point forced the evacuation of the fire building and the aggressive protection of exposures.  These photos are from late in the fire, as I was in Providence, RI when this job came in.

Cambridge, MA approx. 0900 hrs. 6/29/03.  A multi-jurisdictional drill involving, the Cambridge FD, Somerville FD, Belmont FD, Brookline FD, Cambridge PD, State police, MBTA Police, MBTA Safety Personnel and the Massachusetts Army National Guard (Sorry if I missed anyone) was conducted at the Alewife MBTA station, in which a terrorist attack on board an MBTA train was simulated.

Woonsocket, RI approx. 1900 hrs. 6/26/03.  An 8 alarm fire destroyed two mill buildings and damaged several more.  Mutual aid from surrounding communities in Rhode Island and Massachusetts were called to the scene to assist in gaining control of the fire.  Due to high temperatures and humidity, an MCI was declared to properly treat the many heat related illnesses and injuries suffered by firefighters.  Photos are from approx. 2300 hrs. 6/26 to 0030 hrs. 6/27.

Attleboro, MA James St & Carpenter St. approx. 0400 hrs. 5/11/03.  Companies making an aggressive attack  kept a heavy fire condition in a 1 story addition of a two story wood frame OM apprx. 70 X 30 from extending into the main structure.  Two firefighters sustained minor injuries while battling this fire, and an accelerant sniffung dog was special called to the scene.

Johnston, RI, 227 Plainfield Pike, approx. 1100 hrs. 5/10/03.  A fire in a large commercial garage type structure was fed by several tanks of flammable gas, resulting in an exterior attack to bring this fire under control.  The response was held to 4 Engines, 1 Truck, a Rescue Squad and 2 Rescue Ambulances.

Sharon, MA, 11 King Phillip Rd. approx. 1015 hrs. 3/3/03. A Walpole ladder was special called above the first alarm assignment for a fire in a 2-1/2 story wood frame dwelling.
